Computation meets judgment

Notes from the seam. What these tools actually change about how a project gets designed, what they quietly cost, and how to tell the difference between a demonstration and a method.

Where I stand

The standard
A tool earns its place if it shortens the loop between intention and evidence. Speed alone is production, and production was never the constraint.
The failure mode
A critic that agrees with you is worse than no critic. Fluent agreement produces the feeling of having been checked without the fact of it.
The limit
These systems amplify whatever is checkable, and the part of architecture that matters most isn't. A material with a grain, then. Argued with, not obeyed.
The open question
Continuous information redistributes authority toward whoever interprets it. The profession should be the one answering that, not receiving the answer.
