Notes from the seam. What these tools actually change about how a project gets designed, what they quietly cost, and how to tell the difference between a demonstration and a method.
Where I stand
- The standard
- A tool earns its place if it shortens the loop between intention and evidence. Speed alone is production, and production was never the constraint.
- The failure mode
- A critic that agrees with you is worse than no critic. Fluent agreement produces the feeling of having been checked without the fact of it.
- The limit
- These systems amplify whatever is checkable, and the part of architecture that matters most isn't. A material with a grain, then. Argued with, not obeyed.
- The open question
- Continuous information redistributes authority toward whoever interprets it. The profession should be the one answering that, not receiving the answer.
